Whad'ell with people here?!
That's what crossed in my minds last week when I went shopping in Carefour (I hope I write this name rite...) Bandung. You know, this supermarket has enermous shopping area and sell almost everything that people need most, like daily stuff... such as grocery, milk, meat and so on. They also sells electronic stuff, knock down furniture and many household stuff... just name it!... (... don't ask silly questions!)
Anyway, since they espect a lots of people to shop in their places, and of course using their "big" vehicle, they also have a large parking lot at their basement... a huge one! probably twice or three times larger than a soccer field... with one big entrance, right in te center of the field. The smart guy that designed the people flow think this through, you see.... the enterance is so big so it can afford to accomodate many people in and out from parking zone to the shopping zone. Adding to this, they also draw rectangle lines as guidelines to put the car easier.
After all of these service provided, I was thinking... O yeah... I won't get difficulties to park car or even fighting over a park space like usually I did (which I hate cause it endanger the car I drove...) since the place is huge. I even wont get an annoying traffic jam... jeez...! It will be a heaven for driver like me...! but then I was dead wrong..!!! The parking field was like a war zone... totally insane..!
Although I was coming on the saturday, the shopping day, but with that size of parking space there shouldn't be a problem at all... It was true the field ought to enough to accomodate all the cars, the problem was, since there is only one entrance to the shopping zone, the most strategic place would be the nearest one to that area. So people "car fight" over that area.... Oh my God!... making everthing worst, the more you re closer to the entrance, you'll see more people park their car outside the rectangle line while blocking road for the car flow. As result.... I got a "traffic Jam" for 20 minutes just for park my Car...
Dang.. what the hell with all people here!!!... Damnit!!! ... Why can't they just follow the rules?!... Park your car inside the box then walk to the entrance... and you know what... the longest walk distance from edge of the field it is only 3 minutes! ... 3 dang minutes! yeah...! it is true...! I was counted for my self...! And these people don't wanna bother themselves to walk for that short period of time....
And after this, I came to a thought that people here... my people.... were truly arrogant and ignorant...! really...! ... Here if you says "law" the first thought come the brain is not "unbreakable", but it is "bend and twist". I don't say that I am holy or what by saying these... but really... 20 minutes to park a car...?!
